Crime Stoppers Atlanta wants to keep your identity a secret!
When you call in, email or SMS us a tip you will be given a tip number. This tip number is used so that you have an anonymous way of identifying yourself without giving us any personal information. The tip number will be used if you need to call us back and give us more information on the tip. If the case is successful you could also use this tip number to pick up a reward.
Whichever method you choose to submit a tip, remember it is completely safe to you and cannot be traced back to you.
If you would like to submit a tip by phone, please call (404)577-TIPS (8477)
Or if you prefer to submit a tip by email click here.
We now are able to receive tips via text/SMS messages from your cell phone, while still keeping you anonymity. Look to the right at the SMS tutorial video to see how you can submit us a tip from your cell phone.
Instructions to submit a secure text/SMS tip:
- Select text “Messaging” or “SMS” (short messaging service) on your phone’s main menu.
- Create (compose) a new message, beginning with the keyword CSA (not case sensitive) in the body of the message.
- Send the message to the short code of 274637 (Crimes)
- Your initial submission will trigger an auto response from the secure transaction server. You will receive brief notes and a unique code number to that response. You must remember this code number, as it cannot be retrieved later. You and the Crime Stoppers coordinator may elect to engage in secure and encrypted two-way dialog at the time with no additional keywords being required to communicate with the system.
- You can text STOP to 274637 (CRIMES) at any time to stop the system from sending you replies. If you send STOP any further text messages you send from the same phone will not get a reply but will be received by Crime Stoppers Atanta.
Standard text messaging rates may apply.
