On December 22, 2007, James Dixon was traveling in his vehicle when he called 911 to report individuals shooting near his residence. A short time later, while still in his vehicle speaking to a 911 operator, James was shot. After suffering a gunshot wound, James drove his vehicle into a concrete wall on Cherokee Avenue, over I-20.
