Breaking on Broyles St - 8/28/2009 - Wednesday, September 02, 2009

On Friday 8/28/2009 around 5:20pm a house on Broyles st in Atlanta was broken into. The suspects took several items and assaulted the family dog. The owners of the house had taken precautions and installed a home camera system.

Cobb County Department of Public Safety Mobile Pulbic Information Release

1) Fatality Crash Investigation (01/24/09 @ 0029 hours in Zone 5)  The Cobb County Police Department's S.T.E.P (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program) Unit is investigating a fatality crash, which occurred on Midway Road at Sylvia Drive in Marietta, Georgia.

Preliminary information from investigators indicates that the driver of a black 1994 Lexus was northbound on Midway Road at a high rate of speed. As the vehicle approached the intersection at Sylvia Drive, the driver lost control and crossed into the southbound lanes of Midway Road, striking a white 2003 Mazda-6 which was southbound on Midway Road. After being struck on the passenger side door by the Mazda, the Lexus came to a stop on the western edge of the roadway and the Mazda came to rest in the middle of the roadway.......

On January 4,2009, Nashwad Johnson was found shot to death at 2095 Liddell Drive in NE Atlanta. His last known whereabouts was in Brooklyn, New York on October 30,2008. The Atlanta Police are seeking any information concerning the death of Nashwad Johnson.

Rumba Latina Robbery - Thursday, February 05, 2009

THESE INDIVIDUALS WERE INVOLVED IN THE ARMED ROBBERY OF THE RUMBA LATINA CHECK CASHING BUSINESS LOCATED AT 714 LINDBERGH DR ON 01/30/09 AT 4:15PM. ONE OF THE SUSPECTS WAS ARMED WITH A BLACK SEMI AUTOMATIC HANDGUN. BOTH ARE DESCRIBED AS HISPANIC MALES. CRIME STOPPERS ATLANTA ANNOUNCES $5,000 REWARD FOR SLAYING OF AREA BARTENDER - Thursday, January 08, 2009

Atlanta, Georgia, January 8, 2009 – Crime Stoppers Atlanta is announcing a $5,000 reward in the case of slain bartender John Henderson. Henderson was gunned down execution style early Wednesday morning at popular Atlanta area restaurant, The Standard. Crime Stoppers Atlanta needs the help of the public in identifying the four gunmen responsible for this violent crime. Due to the heinous nature of the crime, the reward pool is being increased. In most cases the maximum reward amount is $2,000.

“Whenever there is a heinous crime of this nature, citizens naturally want to do their part to help,” says Dave Wilkinson, CEO of the Atlanta Police Foundation. “Crime Stoppers allows them to have a voice. Citizens can either phone in information anonymously or donate to the reward pool.”

Crime Stoppers "Sponsor-a-Month" Program - Tuesday, March 27, 2007

The Atlanta Police Department in partnership with the Atlanta Police Foundation and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District will announce the launch of a new four pronged security communications system for the City of Atlanta.  The Atlanta Security Council, a committee of the Atlanta Police Foundation comprised of Atlanta Corporate Security Executives, collaborated with the Downtown Public Safety Task Force to develop an integrated information sharing system for the city that would allow for better communications between the public and private sector as well as interoperability between law enforcement agencies and the private sector.  In preparation for the Final Four this week-end the program is being launched in Downtown Atlanta. 
 
Operation Shield is comprised of four tenets:
·        Integrated Camera Surveillance, including 13 new cameras in the downtown tourist triangle
·        Atlanta CityWorkSite, a web based information sharing platform that allows for real time dissemination of information
·        COMNET, a two-way radio frequency between the APD and the private sector
·        Crime Stoppers Atlanta, a program through which area law enforcement agencies disseminate information to the general public to seek anonymous tips exchange for rewards
